INPEX Idemitsu Norge awarded five production licences in APA 2025
On 13 January 2026, the Ministry of Energy announced offers to INPEX Idemitsu Norge (IIN) of five production licences, as part of Awards in Predefined Areas 2025 (APA 2025).
The offer to IIN includes operatorship in PL 1264 B and partner shares in PL 891 C, PL 1257 B, PL 1297, and PL 1309. The licences are located in the northern North Sea and in the Norwegian Sea.
The APA 2025 licences offered represents a further expansion of IIN’s business portfolio, with new exploration opportunities in underexplored plays where IIN has a prime position. Moreover, the awards will underpin the company’s position in its core areas.
The APA 2025 awards to INPEX Idemitsu are most welcome. Organic growth represents one of the pillars for execution of IIN’s continued growth strategy on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and complements our recent and future efforts and ambitions within Mergers and Acquisition (M&A).
