Peon

One of Norway’s largest undeveloped gas discoveries, with an approximate 150 mmboe of recoverable dry gas. The Peon well stream will be tied back to the Gjøa Semi, and exported from there.

The Peon gas is exceptionally low in contaminants, representing a strong mixing contribution for high CO2 fields at receiving terminal.

 

Omega Sør

Omega Sør Alpha was discovered in 2026 and holds an estimated 25-89 mmboe gross recoverable resources. The development concept is a subsea tie-back to the Snorre A platform via existing Snorre subsea infrastructure.

Subject to a final investment decision, the project is planned executed as part of Equinor’s Wave 1 of subsea fast-track projects.

 

Ringvei Vest

The Ringvei Vest (RVV) project is a large area development north of the Troll field, consisting of seven discoveries being tied back to the Troll B platform through a centrally located subsea separation station. With around 240 mmboe of recoverable oil and gas resources, this is a large development in the Fram and Troll areas.

The significant subsea infrastructure to be placed in this prospective area will also provide tie-in opportunities for potential future volumes. Furthermore, the RVV project will sustain prolonged production from the nearby fields.

 

Hywind Tampen

Hywind Tampen is the first ever attempt at supplying platforms with power from floating offshore wind.

The wind farm will consist of 11 wind turbines. The 8 MW turbines have a total capacity of 88 MW and meet about 35 per cent of the annual power demand of the five platforms Snorre A and B and Gullfaks A, B and C.

By reducing the use of gas turbines on the fields, the project helps reduce CO2 emissions by more than 200 000 tonnes per year, corresponding to annual emissions from 100 000 private cars. The Hywind project helps bring floating offshore wind technology an important step forward.

 

Duva

The Duva field (formerly Cara) was sanctioned in March 2019 and approved by the authorities in June the same year.

The Duva development comprises a subsea tie-back to the nearby Gjøa platform.

First production from Duva started 22 August 2021 when the gas production well was brought on stream as the first producer.

 

Fram Sør

The Echino S prospect was discovered in 2019 and Blasto in 2021 and Blasto was actually the second largest discovery on the NCS that year.

INPEX Idemitsu has worked with the Echino S and Blasto prospect maturation for several years and promoted the prospects for drilling to the operator and licence partners.

The discoveries are located in the PL 090 licence close to existing Fram and Troll infrastructure and these discoveries are the basis for the Fram Sør development. Fram Sør is developed with cost effective subsea tie-back solutions to existing infrastructure.

 

Dugong

The Dugong discovery was one of the largest discoveries on the NCS in 2020. It is located in PL 882, 158 kilometres west of Florø.

The license was awarded in Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) in 2017, and the first exploration well was successfully drilled in the Dugong Main structure summer 2020. An appraisal well was drilled in Q1 2021.

The field is located close to existing infrastructure and development solutions are under consideration.

 

Wisting

Wisting is a shallow oil discovery, made in 2012 in PL 537 in the Hoop area of the Barents Sea. Mean gross recoverable gross resources is 481 mmboe.

Concept studies are ongoing with the aim of an investment decision by the end of 2027. The partners have selected a ship-shaped FPSO as the development solution. Reduction in CO2 emissions is planned achieved by post-combustion CCS, subject to successful technology qualification.
